Decluttering and donating

As we come to the end of this year, I look back and see somewhat of a roller coaster, but through it all, I am thankful to God that it is ending better than it began.

It began with some awful highs and lows of blood pressure, ER visits, heart palpitations, and heart monitoring and ends with somewhat stabilized blood pressure, and an understanding of the A-Fib and how to avert them when I sense them coming on. It has been a journey, that's for sure.

In January I was spending as much as 95% of my day in bed, and needed hubby pushing me in a wheelchair when we went out and about. At the grocery store, he would go in and bring a rideround cart out to me.

I end the year, having got a seated walker (a rollator) in May/June, and despite still using the ridearound in the grocery store, walking more (with the rollator) and becoming more active again. It feels so good!

Hubby and I have re-one our living room in the last few weeks, and I have a seated elliptical, that I pedal, in there.

Along the way, these past few weeks, we have been doing a lot of decluttering as we have been redoing it, and the Salvation Army has been most grateful for my discarded items. They told my hubby they love it when my boxes get donated, LOL. I'm glad to see things go to good use. We can see what the Salvation Army does in our area, with its hostels for the homeless, feeding program and the annual Christmas programs. Hubby donates to them weekly through his paycheck, and then whenever I turf out, they get my things.

Today, I have boxed up a whole load of AVON that customers failed to pick up this year, that I then failed to resell (and I hate returning things), and this way they don't go to waste.  I also went through some of my closet and drawer space for clothes that no longer fit me or I no longer wear.

A bag of plastic recycleables, and a bag of paper recycleables were also collected and are no longer taking up space just scattered in what was my AVON room previously. It def feels good to lose all the clutter!

I'm hoping the New Year will see me continuing to improve health-wise, and decluttering.

Health improvements are making this almost a misnomer

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well, on this Wintry day. I was laughing with a friend, yesterday, about this blog name, and how I am beginning to feel bad about it at the moment, since I have been able to use my seated walker more and more and use the wheelchair less. In fact, I only use the ride around cart at the grocery store.

Having the seat on this walker means that as soon as I tire, I can sit and rest, so this is actually working for me pretty well.

I am very thankful to be building strength in my muscles again. Using essential oils for my pain has helped me no end, although my hip and knee issues still require surgical replacement (which is not going to happen). I am grateful though to be walking again and sitting better.

Hoping for continued improvement in the New Year.

I missed making President's Club this year

It began as a rough year for me, with the erratic blood pressure, stroke levels causing trips to the ER, and heart palpitations that they couldn't figure out, and the first few months I basically spent much of my waking moments worrying, taking an extra pill, or trying to sleep through the episodes that made me feel so awful, and were so scary. It wasn't until May that things got figured out on the palpitations at least, and I was diagnosed with A-Fib and put on blood thinners. I have a lovely cardiologist, and we are working together to try to get this under control.

Suffice to say, as much as I love my AVON, working it was the least of my thoughts at the beginning of 2017. I had had such high hopes of a successful year, of new things I wanted to try in order to grow my business, and I couldn't do any of it as even getting online would stress me out, make my blood pressure shoot up and cause the flutterings that would make me panic uncontrollably.

Unfortunately, that waste of over 1/3 of the work year, set me behind for the rest of it, and as of yesterday, when AVON's President's Club cycle ended for 2017, this is my first year that I have failed to make it.

I am upset. I'd be a liar to say otherwise. Making President's Club has been a source of much pride over the years, that - even disabled - I could achieve it ... and this year, I have failed.

I know I have the right excuses, that it wasn't laziness or a lack of effort, that caused this, that I was truly extremely ill and unable to perform the duties my business needed. had I been an employee of a business, I know I would have been fired. I am blessed that, despite my lower productivity this year, I still have a source of income, and (for much of the year) made decent money and on my own terms.

Today marks the beginning of my working to achieve President's Club in the next cycle. I have 26 campaigns throughout 2018 to accomplish it in, and am going to do my best to d so.

Some of the greatest people have found success through failure. As devastating to me, in one sense, as this failure is, it is just one step in the journey of my success ... and I'm going to keep taking those steps!

Espira

When AVON first began serving customers, the pamphlets included not just skin care and fragrance items but also home apothecary products aimed at helping the housewife and her family, as well.

Recent years have seen a surge in the health and wellness industry - in people becoming more aware of nutritional needs, fitness benefits, in balancing work and relaxation, and minimizing stress.

AVON has - once again - decided to include health and wellness items in their range and 2018 will see the launch of the Espira range geared towards helping people with their dietary and supplementary needs.

I'm excited. I am very much a "natural" remedy person, and in using plant sources for my nutrients, and AVON's Espira range has the same premise, natural ingredients from plant sources.

If you're local to me, in Mauldin, Greenville or Simpsonville, contact me to order, or from ANYWHERE in the USA, simply go to www.youravon.com/rosemarydempsey to order direct delivery.
