No longer in a wheelchair

I've been working hard the past couple of years and am no longer needing to be wheeled around places in a wheelchair. The turning point began when we got me a rollator walker with a seat. At first, even 5-6 steps necessitated a sit down. Gradually, that improved, and I walk fairly decently with it now, although my posture sucks as I am bent over it.

However, as I began being able to walk again, I also started pedalling on an indoor elliptical bike, and that has also helped strengthen my legs. It also led me to getting a gym membership with Planet Fitness and so I've been able to add other exercises to my regimen and am definitely becoming more fit.

I still need to use a ride-around cart when I go grocery shopping, or for longer treks but I can walk longer distances, albeit needing to rest a lot as I go. I did the 1/4 mile at Cedar Falls but it was half and half, so my 30 minutes that it took was about 15 actually walking and 15 in small breaks along the way - BUT - success, I was well chuffed.

As such, I feel "dishonest" to continue the Wheelchair AVON blog, as I am working constantly towards getting more and more of my mobility back.

I am still selling AVON though, and would love to have you as a customer on my website www.youravon.com/rosemarydempsey
