Taking Advantage of all Opportunities

This year has been difficult for me, and especially with my business. The first few months were an awful time of the palpitations of my heart (now diagnosed as A-Fib) and my blood pressure yo-yoing up and around stroke level. In all honesty, many days I was so stressed I would just take my meds and try to sleep the days away, so that my body could rest itself without me worrying over it and making it worse.

My business suffered. I wasn't keeping up with my advertising online, with my blog postings and groups, with my phone calls to my team members, the only ting on my mind was how ill I was and how bad I felt. It was scary when the episodes happened. I was afraid to be alone and yet had nobody to be with, as my hubby still had to go to work.

So, I find myself, a month away from the end of an AVON selling year and $3579.02 in sales, to make President's Club.

I don't get out much, maybe once a week, on a weekend, so whenever I do, I make full use of it and talk AVON, leave brochures, hand out my business card. I joke that a "girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do" but this is my "real job". I don't get disability. I sell AVON!

So, Friday I had a mammogram appointment. When we arrived, the fire alarm was going off, and we had to wait outside while the fire department checked everything out. When we got inside, I left #AVONbooks in every waiting area, handed them to the lady in the billing area, handed some to the lady receptionist, gave one to the lady who came in behind me, and we started chatting.

On our way home from that appointment we stocked some #AVONbrochures in the rack at Ingles in Mauldin.

On Saturday, hubby being a veteran, many places were offering him a free meal, so we opted to go to Hu Hot Mongolian Grill, one of our favourite places, and where they know us pretty well now. I gave brochures to our server for her and the other ladies, she said they love it when I do that. We chatted about the gift items and I pointed out my "special offer" on the label on the front of my book.

Hubby says I'm an AVON pimp, LOL. I just think I have to make the most of my trips out,and give out my #AVONbooks wherever I can and talk the talk.

Thanks for stopping by

My shower routine

So, everywhere I go, I get compliments that I "smell so nice" and some people have even felt the  need to fill that out with "for someone who is disabled" which brings to mind the "nursing home smell" that many just think is normal for the elderly and those who spend much of their time in their bed due to illness or an inability to walk etc.

I decided to give you a run down of how I take care of myself and make sure that I am not wafting an obnoxious "eau de stinky" around on the unsuspecting souls near me. My full shower routine takes me about 30 minutes, and I am seated for the whole time.

First things first - I clean my teeth. I brush properly, and also the inner cheeks, roof of mouth, tongue and under the tongue. Then I rinse and rinse!

That done, next I wash my face with the AVON Anew Comforting Cream Cleanser and Mask and rinse it off with a face cloth.

Next,  soak I my hair and wash it with Advance Techniques Keep Clear 2-in-1 Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and after rinsing that thoroughly, I apply Advance Techniques Ultimate Volume Conditioner to the ends and comb it through. I leave that in while I shower.

I'm a big fan of moisturising as I go, and the Skin So Soft Foaming Body Oil makes that so easy to do.  I use the original fragrance but I mix 2-3 pumps (on my washcloth) with a squirt of JR WATKINS Lemon Cream Daily Moisturizing Body wash and then wash all over with that, and rinse it all off. I make sure to rinse myself throughly, and I just enjoy relaxing with the water rushing over me.

Finally, before getting out of the shower, I rinse my hair thoroughly.

I towel dry my hair, and then just leave it to dry naturally.

Then comes the second half of my routine.

First, I dust under armpits, boobies and belly with Johnson's Lavender Corn Starch to stop any sweating.

In my hand, I squeeze about a quarter-size dollop of AVON Prima Body Lotion and I add a few drops of lavender oil to this and mix together. I use lavender as a calmer, to help try to stave off my high blood pressure and panicky episodes. This, I then rub all over my arms and hands, and the remainder onto my knees and thighs.

I spray AVON Daydream fragrance on my outer thighs, and AVON Prima on my wrist and inner elbow.

All that then remains is to get dressed, and brush my hair, and I am ready to head out the door for whatever I'm planning. And to hear those compliments "you always smell soooo good!"

Have  a great day everyone!

My AVON Money Is Covering Christmas Shopping

One of the things I love about AVON is the awesome selection of gifts each year, and I get probably 90% of my gifts from the brochure, and paid for from my #AVONearnings!  This year is no exception!

The rest I try to buy from handcrafters and other small biz peeps.

There were just so many things I loved, and having grandkids and great grandkids to buy for ... well, I just HAD to get them!

Both of my granddaughters who live close to me, chose one of the Joyful Beautiful sleepshirts as something for the cooler nights that are drawing in.

Nicolette loved the AVON Living Holly Dot Stacking Mug Set With Holder  ($19.99) and wanted it as part of her Christmas goodies, so like any good nan, how could I say no?

I love the Purple Peace Collection, a  portion of every purchase is donated to AVON's Speak Out About Domestic Violence Campaign. And of all the range, my favourite  is the Purple Peace Infinity Ombre Scarf

which I also bought for Nicolette (and gave it to her early as we had some colder weather this week, and she leaves for work many mornings around 5am) and she LOVES it!

I also got both granddaughters a matching hat and scarf set, Nicolette chose the red, Jel the pink.

I try to buy functional when I can.

Having one of my granddaughters, Leah, in England doing AVON there, I am now getting gifts for my family here, through her and paypaling the money. AVON UK has some lovely things too. I like that she earns commission to help HER with Christmas, too!

I try to support other small business people whenever I can. I have an online friend, Lyndalee, who quilts and makes soft furnishings. This year, she is making me 2 memory pillows for my grandson, Dylan, who is in the Army.

I have a couple of ladies who crochet, and last year I had one, Debbie, crochet my youngest great granddaughter a dress and hat set that was absolutely beautiful.

Making a difference by supporting others has always been a passion of mine, and Christmas just gives me a time to do it more. Please consider doing some of your shopping with home based business folk this year. This is our real job, and our sales determine our paycheck and what money we have for bill and treats.

Have a great evening.
