Great Deals in the Outlet Book!

The Outlet Book is a treasure chest of everything AVON, items that are being discontinued, closeouts of seasonal goodies, cosmetics and skin care that are either being reformulated or repackaged, and lots more.

They are limited quantities because basically, they are clearance, so once they are gone they are gone.

The best way to order items from the Outlet Book is immediately when you see something that you want, on my website, for direct delivery to your home anywhere in the US. The site will tell you whether the item is already sold out, or if it is in stock.

You will get FREE SHIPPING with any order of $40 or more from the Outlet Book, just as you do from the regular brochure PLUS - if you are a new customer who has never shopped online from me before - you can use code WELCOME10 to get a 10% discount off of your first order with me.

The main premise, of my business, is to save you money, and it's a responsibility I take seriously.  I'd love to have you as a customer!

I Hope We Get a Break From The Rain

I should not complain, despite my yard being a soggy mess, at least it is not flooded like some folks have had to deal with in other areas. My prayers go out to them. Some people have lost everything due to floods and mudslides, it is awful.

The stormy weather, though, wreaks havoc on my health.

I get so stiff and my joints ache, with a deep throb. The changing pressure that comes with storms, gives me headaches and makes my blood pressure rise - last night was one of extra meds trying to keep that under control. Being that I prefer "natural" means, and have been gradually able to cut down my meds over the past year, having to resort to taking "emergency doses" doesn't make me very happy.

Needs must though, as my family medical history is NOT GOOD when it comes to high blood pressure and related issues like stroke, heart attack and aneurysms. Doing my genealogy, just one one side of my family, we have them showing in every generation back to 1850. Hence, when mine goes up, the pills go down!

Thankfully we are in a lull right now and the sun is out, but more is promised on and off over the next few days.

Dragging after the long weekend

Good morning! Hoping everyone had a good long Memorial Day weekend, and spent times making memories with your loved ones. Today just seems like a Monday because of yesterday being a Holiday. Usually, my Mondays, I'm fired up, today it seems the weather is putting a damper on my mood, somewhat.

We are expecting a deluge as Alberto's outer bands pass over us, they say the threat of tornadoes is light, but that's one thing that always worries me, so I'm a wee bit stressed right now ... just in case.

I'm going to try to stay busy, I have #AVON brochures to label ready for a tossing event that I'm planning, and samples to put in bags with them. I need to build my customer base again somewhat, so am going to drop some off in local neighbourhoods and see if anyone needs an AVON lady.  Hopefully there'll be some folks who love or products and don't have a rep already!

I've also got some mini flyers to compose, again as a tool to try to build my business more. I love what I do, this really is what I see myself doing for the rest of my life. Without it, I'd be lost.

My disability means that I can't be a reliable employee for a company that needs someone there on a set schedule, I have to work around my body's being willing to do what I need it to do, when IT decideds to cooperate. Thankfully, AVON has provided me a nice income that has allowed me to maintain a semblance of independence. I still feel that I'm a contributor to our family's finances.

Anyway, have a wonderful day. be as productive as you are able! Find pleasure in all that you do, no matter how small an accomplishment it may seem.

Improving All The Time, Slow And Steady Will Win The Race

When I look back on the past year to eighteen months, I can see a definite improvement in quite a few aspects of my health and am extremely thankful for the progress made.

During that time, I have learned a lot more about my body and to respond to its cues. I had always been in tune with it, but when things started happening that shouldn't be, I had to start figuring out why what happened was happening and what things were going on when they happened.

It's funny that some of what I have to do for my body now is so different from what I've learned, or done, in the past.

The A-Fib has changed a lot. My heart seems to go into the fibrillation when it either gets too low like 43-48 beats a minute, or high (for me) 70+ beats per minute.

So, when I exercise, when I'm pedalling on the elliptical cycle, my goal is not to raise my heartrate to an aerobic level, but keep it in the mid-60s range. NOT as easy as it sounds.

I've had some well-meaning friends try to explain to me that I need to be working aerobically for fat loss, and I have to explain to them that yes that's what most folks have to do but I have to do what my cardiologist tells me to do, and for soebody like me, a "normal" level of aerobic exercise, right now, is only going to cause me some big problems!

When my heartrate gets too slow I usually go pedal for a few minutes to bring it up but, many times, I was noticing that it dropped very quickly afterwards. Keeping track of the things going on at the time, led me to discover that heat and cold affect me differently now.

Even if I feel warm or comfortable, in myself, if my SKIN gets cool ... maybe because the fan is on ... that causes my heart to slow. It's odd in 75 degree weather to get under the covers and need EXTRA quilts on top, in order to stay stable. I can be all snug under the covers, and touch my thigh or belly and it will be cold to the touch. I lie on my side and "walk" my legs in order to keep my heartrate from falling any more while I rub my skin to prove warmth through friction. Hubby, meanwhile, is throwing off his normal covers because he's too hot.

Another thing I have to watch is my potassium intake. If my blood pressure remains too high, I have to take one of my "emergency" pills, Hydrochlorthiazide, which is a diuretic.

Last year I ended up with failing kidney function, 39%, not good at all. It was scary, I was getting tremblings and all sorts with it, and at that point my doctor was trying to figure out whether the blood pressure issues were causing the kidney ones, or vice versa.

I started limiting my potassium and managed to get my functioning back up to normal, but in researching about my kidney issues, I found that the Hydrochlorthiazide (which back then I was taking daily as a "normal" med) was not supposed to be taken with my Lisinopril as it cause the kidneys to build up potassium!  That was when it stopped being a daily and became an emergency med.

I then found out that licorice has something in it that BINDS potassium to it and takes it out of the body.

Since I love fruits and veggies, and they are good for me but high in potassium, on days now where I may eat a lot of them, I have 2 pieces of licorice, to help with removing some of it. The ER doctor laughed when I told her but said that was good planning!

I'm happy with my weight loss, 79lbs gone so far and I'm still on the journey.

My biking on the elliptical provides me with some awesome time with (as my mum used to say) my head "stuck in a book". I've always loved to read, I get lost in the characters and the plot twists and I'll look up to check my heart rate and find I'm 15 minutes gone already, sometimes 20. I try usually to stay between 10 and 15 as it's easier to keep my pulse on an even keel.

My rollator walker has proven a marvellous ally and friend through this and has got me able to walk much more than I was able to before. I need the support of something to hold onto, and being able to sit when I need to means that I don't end up hurting from overdoing it. When I first got it almost a year ago, I could barely totter a dozen paces before I would need to sit. Some days it can still be like that, but for the most part, I can walk up a supermarket aisle now in one go, then sit for a few, then start again. I also accomplished a half mile walk at Cedar Falls like that. Walk. Sit. Walk. Sit. Hey ... I did it though and that's what counts!

I have a long way to go, and it may be that the weight I have set myself (my "normal weight" from ages 15-30 of 140lbs) is unrealistic now. I may have to settle for maybe 150-160bs, only time will tell. But I'm plodding along and for now, that's the mountain top I'm aiming for.

I'm Helping A Team Member Today

A few weeks before Christmas, back in November of 2009, I met up with a lady to appoint her as an AVON rep. In those days, you met face to face, and took your new person a kit to start them there and then. That person was Jennifer Jarvis, and she has been with me ever since.

Jenn is a beautiful person, active in both her church and her daughter's schools. She has consistently reached President's Club since joining AVON and is an Honor Society member.

To say I love this lady is an understatement. We hit it off immediately and became good friends.

In May of 2013, the person that I want to help today, joined Jenn's team (and thus became my AVON granddaughter). Her name is Lakeisha Kimble and she is now beginning to build her team. Lakeisha is a busy mother of 3 and loves sharing her AVON business ( it's a representative thing, we all do!).

Well, starting today, there's even more of a reason to become a rep yourself!

It's a new incentive that will give a $25 credit to new representatives if they join with an Advanced ($50) or Premium ($100) kit, and place a $150 first order. The incentive begins today and ends May 29th.

Starting today, will also give you time to take advantage of AVON's Rapid Advancement incentive as well.

But that's not all, as you'll be in Kickstart, which also gives you bonuses for your sales and advancement.

It's a win-win, and you'll have Lakeisha, Jenn and myself to support and encourage you along the way.

Take the first step today, go to Lakeisha's AVON site and join today. You can email me at rosesavonshoppe@aol.com with any questions, I'm always happy to help!

What a lovely day today has been

May came in today with a  beautiful sunrise, birds singing outside and the promise of a productive day - which was definitely fulfilled!

I worked consistently today, in segments, with rests inbetween. A lot was online, networking, talking with team members and posting on GooglePlus, Pinterest and Facebook, plus I labelled a box of Campaign 11 brochures and packed up an envelope of samples for one of my customers. I also made a new virtual business card on my Elify and sent to my phone contacts by text.

Yes, you could say I am quite pleased with the first day of the 31 on offer this month.

I set myself some new goals for Campaign 11, I'm looking to get some purchases of AVON's Causes products, and I'm hoping to garner 10 direct delivery orders this campaign. If you'd like to help me, you can check out the brochures at www.youravon.com/rosemarydempsey and also the items that support the Breast Cancer Crusade, and Speak Out Against Domestic Violence. You can also share this blog post for me too. I'd really appreciate the support.

Summer's on its way!

I love AVON, as you all know, and I love every new brochure that comes out. I've made it a premise of my business to try to save my customers money, and I do so by sharing deals, special codes for discounts and free shipping, or offering free merchandise to people who bring me new customers and orders. I am very thankful for my AVON business, it has provided me with an income that I wouldn't otherwise have since becoming disabled.

Campaign 11 is chock-full of amazing deals in every area of the brochure. The cover highlights the Pop of Colour theme running through the beautiful jewelry on the first 13 pages. It's a jewelry lovers dream. Farther in, there is Sterling Silver fine jewelry, and near the back of the brochure, some pieces that help further AVON's causes, Speak Out About Domestic Violence and the Breast Cancer Crusade.

For starters, showering has never felt so lush. With Skin So Soft, you can choose a regular  shower gel, a creamy body wash, or  the oil-infused foaming body wash ... and save money on all of them!

My favourite is the Original scent in the oil-infused foaming body wash, it leaves my skin feeling amazingly soft and moisturized. It lasts for ages too.

There are 30 pages of fashions and accessories in our Seaside Gardens range, perfect for your Summer looks. Bright, and comfortable, with a sprinkling of pizzazz, for carefree days of sightseeing, trips to the beach, shopping and lunch with friends, all the fun pursuits of the season.

Our Causes are always close to my heart.

During my first marriage, as a young mother, I was a victim of spousal abuse for 5 years and honestly, there were many times that I never thought I'd get out alive.

Back then, there were NO services or help for battered wives, and the police wouldn't even intervene. Society has come a long way since then, including recognizing that spousal abuse affects all sectors of society, and can be instigated by either partner. I'm always proud to promote our Purple Peace products because of this. Whenever you purchase one of these items, a donation is made towards AVON's Speak Out Against Domestic Violence cause.

The Breast Cancer Crusade has been going now since 1992, that's 26 years of supporting women suffering from breast cancer, providing mammograms for women, and other services. This cause is improtant to me as my husband lost his mother to ths disease at age 12, and back in the late 1980's his sister also fought her battle with it. Thankfully, she is one of the survivors.

Unfortunately, there is still much to be learned regarding the disease and in finding a cure, so that we can make all sufferers into survivors.

20% of the price of any Pink Hope purchase is donated to AVON's  Breast Cancer Crusade to continue providing funding for research, screenings,  and supporting services for those affected by breast cancer.

So much more in the brochure too, savings on skin care, fragrance, hair care, mark. 212 pages to entice you!

Where are my Outlet lovers? You are going to LOVE this one!

Check it out for even bigger bargains on some of your fave products! Pages of fashions and accessories, home decor items, fragrance, make up and jewelry, all at bargain prices.

Finally,
2 brochures that are all about fragrance and make up, offering savings and groupings so that you can create YOUR ambience. I am a big fragrance person, I often wear 2 fragrances at the same time and get so many comments on how great I "smell", LOL.

If you have never shopped on the AVON site and with me before, use code WELCOME10 to get a 10% discount off your first order.

All orders over $40, on my website,

AVON currently is offering 2 incentives for new representatives, one offering the chance to receive a $25 credit towards demos or other products with your first order of $150 when you opt for the Advanced or Premium starter kit, when you sign up between May 2nd through May 29th 2018. The second offer DOUBLE rewards for Rapid Advancement.
