Both of these causes are close to my heart. My husband lost his mum to breast cancer in 1976, when he was only 12. I cannot imagine going through that. His younger sister was only 5 and he had to try to explain it to her.

I, myself, was a victim of domestic abuse for 5 years, and I know the helplessness, the "shame" felt by being a victim. I honestly thought that the only way I would get out would be in a pine box! Back in the 70s there was no support, the assumption was that you were a "failure" as a wife and mother, that you were somehow responsible for his actions because you weren't doing what you were supposed to.

Nowadays, abuse is gender neutral. Men are also victims. I'm so glad that AVON is a part of the solution.

I've been an #AVONRepresentative now, for 11 years. I am disabled and it's the way that I make my money, I do not get any sort of disability benefits.
